Rep: 'Single Ladies' Girls Did 'Nothing Provocative'

Rep: 'Single Ladies' Girls Did 'Nothing Provocative'

As a little girl, my mother enrolled my sisters and I in dance classes. We enjoyed our foray into tap, ballet, jazz, baton, tumbling, etc... Mother made all of our costumes and she did an amazing job at keeping them age appropriate. NEVER were we put at risk of exposing our bodies to pedophiles or other deviants. I remember a Dutch inspired dance and I my sister and I wore little pink and white dutch costumes. Our skirts went past our knees and we were completely covered on our upper torso. The most revealing costumes we ever saw were for Hawaiin & Tahitian dances but even those costumes were not as revealing as those worn by these little girls.

I find it apalling that some who view this applaud the girls dancings skills. No doubt some of them have talent, but for the love of God, the dance moves are entirely too provocative given their age! The dance, let alone the costumes would have my mother crossing herself and citing bible passages as she whipped the parentals and the dance teacher with a switch off the nearest tree!

This is what television has done to our parenting skills. I'm not blaming the kids, this lays solely on the dance teacher and the parents of these young girls. As parents, we are under strict guidelines to raise our children to be hard working, loving, happy adults. We need to raise them with morals and values in which our parents, and grandparents before them. I am amazed that young girls like Miley Cyrus are gyrating on stripper poles at Nickelodean Awards shows, and posting photos of herself in underwear all over the internet. Hello?! I remember when Britney Spears gyrated all over the MTV Awards in her flesh-colored costume! It was disgusting and raunchy per her usual bit, and I threw out all of the CDs my children owned and I didn't allow them to play her music or videos from that point on. Funny how my son, who was the same age as some of these little girls thought Britney was a trashy stripper and lost interest in her music because of that one dance. He was uncomfortable with her performance, and that is an appropriate reaction from a CHILD! He should have been freaked out because he was young, and I didn't expose him to things like that. Now, as a man, he can watch that and think its pretty hot, but again, he is a man not a little boy! But this my friends is what lack responsible parenting is taking us. Parents hungry for FAME and FORTUNE for their children because they lack the drive and motivation to actually become successful on their own. Take a look at YouTube and see all the videos posted by parents of their babies on up.....they are certainly trying for their 15 minutes of fame nowadays.

I am pissed that some find this video unoffensive, and applaud these girls. Its disgusts me that these parents are defending this clearly inappropriate routine and costumes because they believe their little girls are such fabulous dancers. Where do we end this?! Do more of our children have to fall into the hands of unstable predators due to their parents ignorance and ability to make sound judgements on their behalf? I'm certain the hoopla will die down eventually, but what will these little girls think when they have little girls of their own, and they have to explain to them why it was okay for Mommy to dress like a hooker and dance like a stripper at their age......Just sayin'..............
